Funds and Endowments
The National Museum of Dentistry’s program funds and endowments helped to establish the museum and continue to allow NMD to create innovative programming, develop new exhibitions, preserve our collection of dental history items, and provide oral health education to communities around the world. These funds were developed with specific goals in mind, but have allowed the museum to serve the countless researchers, visitors, students and teachers, and dental professionals that we engage with every day.
Through support of these funds, YOU can ensure that we can continue to celebrate and share the past, present, and future of the dental profession, while promoting the importance of a healthy smile in a healthy life.
Annual Fund
The National Museum of Dentistry’s Annual Fund helps sustain the general operating expenses of the museum, allowing the museum to utilize the funds when necessary to accomplish our mission from developing new exhibitions to supporting our Title I school program funding.
The annual fund can be supported through donations, memberships, planned giving, corporate sponsorships, and brick and plaque purchases.

Making Schools Smile Fund
The Making Schools Smile Fund was established to ensure access to oral health education for Title I schools and low-income communities by providing transportation to the museum, developing virtual and off-site educational resources and programming, and to supplement and expand oral health education in elementary schools.
The Making Schools Smile Fund can be supported through donations, planned giving, and corporate partnerships.
The Dr. Samuel D. Harris Endowment for Children's Dental Health Programs
The Harris Fund was established by Dr. Samuel D. Harris, a pioneer in pedodontia and founding benefactor of the museum, in order to fund in perpetuity educational programs and exhibitions at the museum that focus on children’s dental health and that teach children, especially young children and the underserved, ways to maintain and improve their oral health.
The Harris Fund can be supported through donations, planned giving, and corporate partnerships.
The Drs. Errol L. and Patricia S. Reese Endowment Fund
The Reese Fund was established to provide funds for the maintenance of the Reese Conference Room and the Executive Director’s office at the museum, along with supporting administrative costs associated with the Executive Director’s office.
The Reese Fund can be supported through donations, planned giving, and corporate sponsorships.
Elizabeth Hubert Malott Endowment Fund
The Malott Fund was established to support educational programs for Girl Scouts, Boy Scouts, and other school-age children at the museum that show the importance of oral health, proper dental hygiene, and the history of dentistry.
The Malott Fund can be supported through donations, planned giving, and corporate partnerships.
